This is not just any message-in-the bottle…

This is one of the most powerful documents in the history of mankind.

This is a replica of a piece of parchment that established a new nation and kept it together for 227 years…

This is a miniature copy of a the original text of the Constitution of the United States of America.

During college days when I studied Political Science, I was always fascinated with the US Constitution, which has become a benchmark for the constitutions around the world. We had to make a comparative study about constitutions of USA and India. And that’s why last November, when I visited the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, I bought the small copy of American constitution.

The words written on this paper founded the government and fundamental laws of America and guaranteed basic rights for its citizens.

The very document is under threat today. The country that gave birth to the first real modern democracy, is in danger of losing its foundation.

Mr. Donald Trump, the 45th President of the USA, imposed a travel ban on citizens of seven countries and triggered a chain of events worldwide, a sequence which has brought the country to the brink of a full-blown constitutional crisis.

Seattle judge James Robart sided with Washington state and Minnesota declaring Trump’s ban as unconstitutional.
In retaliation Trump attacked Robert on twitter calling him a “so-called judge”. Trump also said the judge’s opinion was “ridiculous and will be overturned”.

However, The US federal appeals court rejected the Trump administration’s request to reinstate a travel ban.

If Mr Trump continues to defy the federal court order, it could lead USA is in uncharted territory…
